Symantec Fires CEO Steve Bennett

Symantec

Symantec has fired Steve Bennett as the company’s president and chief executive officer. The decision to oust the CEO was taken at a meeting, where it was decided that he was not moving quickly enough to innovate on new products and growth initiatives, according to a report by Nicole Perlroth on Bits. Mr. Bennett has resigned from the company’s board of directors as well.

A special committee of the Symantec board is now searching for a new permanent CEO, says the company. Symantec board member Michael Brown has been appointed as interim president and chief executive officer.
