Six New Things About Apple’s New $99 IPhone

iPhone_5C_1Apple unveiled the $99 iPhone 5c on Tuesday. The iPhone 5C sports a new design with new colors, and yes, it does feature a 4-inch Retina display, as well as a A6 chip, and a 8 megapixel  camera.

Philip Schiller (Senior vice president of Worldwide Marketing, Apple): iPhone 5c is everything iPhone 5 was and more, in an all-new design packed with great features.   

Here are a list of things you want to know about the iPhone 5C:

1] Design and colors: The iPhone 5c features a new design, and is crafted from a single, hard-coated polycarbonate body with a steel reinforced frame. The steel frame holds the internal components and also doubles as the iPhone 5c’s multi-band antenna. The enclosure is one continuous and seamless structure that is finished with a hard coat and glossy surface.

IPhone 5c will come in five colors – blue, green, pink, yellow and white.

2] Features: The iPhone 5C includes a new FaceTime HD camera, and with iOS 7, users can make audio-only FaceTime calls. The phone supports for up to 13 LTE wireless bands, more than any other smartphone in the world.

3] Talk time and battery life: iPhone 5c delivers 10 hours of talk time on 3G networks, up to 10 hours of web browsing on Wi-Fi and LTE networks and up to 8 hours on 3G networks, and up to 10 hours of video playback and up to 40 hours of audio playback. IPhone 5c includes dual-band 802.11 a/b/g/n Wi-Fi support for up to 150 Mbps and Bluetooth 4.0.

4] Pricing and availability:  iPhone 5c comes in blue, green, pink, yellow and white and will be available in the US for $99 for the 16GB model and $199 for the 32GB model.

Carriers to offer the iPhone 5C include AT&T, Sprint, T-Mobile, and Verizon Wireless.

5] International launch: The iPhone 5c will be available in Australia, Canada, China, France, Germany, Hong Kong, Japan, Puerto Rico, Singapore and the UK on Friday, September 20.
