Craig Melrose has been appointed as the executive vice president of PTC’s digital transformation solutions organization. In a statement, the company said, Mr. Melrose will report to PTC President and CEO Jim Heppelmann. He will be based in PTC’s headquarters in Boston’s Seaport innovation district.

Mr. Melrose will lead the organization, which is newly-formed, to build customer-facing solutions that incorporate PTC’s CAD, PLM, IoT, and AR technologies, says the company.

Mr. Melrose joins PTC after a 20 years stint at McKinsey. He was a vehicle production engineer working with Toyota, prior to that.
