Looker appoints Ryan Gurney chief security officer

Data platform company Looker has appointed Ryan Gurney chief security officer.

Mr. Gurney will be developing and executing a broad-based security and compliance roadmap for current and future products, as well as implementing company-wide governance policies and procedures, said the company in a statement.

Prior to Looker, Mr. Gurney managed security and compliance functions as vice president of Security at Zendesk, and director of IT for Engine Yard. Previously, he managed a security engineering team at eBay.
