Hipmunk Raises $15M Series B Round

[Techtaffy Newsdesk]

Himpunk has raised another round of venture capital, just two months shy of their second anniversary, this time led by Institutional Venture Partners (IVP). The Series B round of $15 million includes Ignition Partners, who participated in the company’s earlier round as well. General partner at IVP, Todd Chaffee, is joining the Hipmunk board.

Hipmunk was launched in August 2010, as a fledgling Y Combinator startup. Hipmunk is a travel search site that presents search results visually. Flight results, for example, are presented in a visual “timeline.” Hotel results are shown on a map so that people can view where in a destination they will be staying and the landmarks near them.
