Grand Theft Auto V Sales Exceed $800M In Day One

Grand Theft Auto V, launched on Tuesday has already exceeded $800 million in sales according to company estimates, says publisher Take-Two Interactive. Grand Theft Auto V delivered the highest first day retail sales of any title in the history of the company and the Grand Theft Auto series.

Set in a satirical reimagining of modern Southern California, Grand Theft Auto V offers players the option to explore the dense urban metropolis of Los Santos and the wide open countryside of Blaine County. Players can plan and execute a series of epic heists, meet strangers and freaks, or participate in a host of activities, from golf to arms trafficking, base jumping to yoga.

The game is available for PlayStation 3 and the Xbox 360. Grand Theft Auto V is soon to be launched in Japan and Brazil.  

Grand Theft Auto V also includes free access to Grand Theft Auto Online, an online game coming in October.
