Apture has been acquired by Google for an undisclosed sum, and will be joining the Chrome team. Apture turns flat Web pages into interactive multimedia experiences with its in-page search technology. Its products let users immediately find and browse content from across the Web – in one window.
Founded in 2007, Apture is funded by Clearstone Venture Partners and angel investors including Paul Maritz of VMWare. According to the company, Apture has enhanced over a billion Web pages with Apture products since its launch.
