Facebook Buys ProtoGeo, Makers Of The Moves App

Moves-Facebook

Facebook has acquired ProtoGeo, the Finnish company behind the Moves fitness app. “The Moves experience will continue to operate as a standalone app, and there are no plans to change that or commingle data with Facebook,” according to a notice posted on the Moves website.

The Moves app for iOS automatically tracks exercise, commuting, and time spent in specified locations. Users can keep the phone in their pockets or bag, for Moves to work.
