Cisco has acquired privately held Virtuata. Based in Milpitas, Calif., Virtuata provides capabilities for securing virtual machine level information in data centers and cloud environments.
Virtuata is a technology and talent acquisition, says Cisco, that brings infrastructure expertise in virtualization, cloud and security domains to Cisco and complements its data center and cloud product portfolio, including the Unified Computing System (UCS) and Nexus-based Unified Fabric portfolios.
The Virtuata team will join Cisco’s Data Center Group led by David Yen, senior vice president, Data Center Group.
