Bookmarking Service Pocket Raises $5M

Pocket, a bookmarking and sharing service, (known as ‘Read It Later’ in an earlier avatar) has raised a $5 million funding round from existing partners, led by Steve Vassallo of Foundation Capital and joined by Steve Anderson of Baseline Ventures and Joe Kraus of Google Ventures.

The funding will be used to expand its existing team (of eight members) and integrate more devices, platforms and apps. Pocket users are now saving nearly a million items a day, says Nate Weiner, founder of the company. The service is currently integrated with over 300 apps.
