Basis Science, the company behind Basis, a wrist-based health tracker and online personal dashboard, has raised $11.5 million in Series B funding. The round was led by Mayfield Fund with investment from existing investors, DCM and Norwest Venture Partners.
Basis is adding healthy living expert Deepak Chopra, and innovator and technology analyst Esther Dyson as advisors. Tim Chang, managing director at Mayfield has joined Basis’ board of directors.
Basis continuously captures heart rate patterns, motion, perspiration and skin temperature, throughout the day and night. It is currently available in the U.S for $199. If you want to get one though, there is a wait. Basis is currently on backorder.
