AT&T Conducting First Ever Disaster Recovery Drill

AT&T is conducting its first Network Disaster Recovery Drill in Los Angeles.

The drill in downtown Los Angeles is being staged on Staples Center Parking Lot 7. It includes establishing emergency communications channels from the site – using equipment such as Emergency Communications Vehicles, satellite COLTs (Cell on Light Trucks), and microwave radio links and deploying search dogs and hazmat teams.

AT&T  has invested $600 million in technology and equipment over 20 years for network recovery, says the company.
