Apple has acquired SnappyLabs, the company behind the SnappyCam photography app, for an undisclosed sum. The SnappyCam app lets users take high resolution images using the phone’s internal camera, by changing how the JPG images are compressed.
SnappyLabs was a one-person company run by John Papandriopoulos, and it is not immediately clear whether he will be joining Apple. Looks like Apple will integrate the SnappyCam technology in iPhones though; the app has gone missing from the App Store, and the SnappyCam website is no longer operational.
