Amazon secures five Atlas V rockets for its Project Kuiper broadband initiative

United Launch Alliance (ULA) said in a statement that Amazon has secured Atlas V for nine launches supporting deployment of its Project Kuiper initiative.

Project Kuiper is an initiative that is expected to increase global broadband access through a constellation of 3,236 satellites in low earth orbit.

The Atlas V missions will launch from Space Launch Complex 41 at Cape Canaveral Space Force Station in Florida.

Amazon has over $10 billion earmarked for Project Kuiper.
