Amazon’s MySQL-Compatible Database Engine Available Now

Aurora, Amazon’s MySQL-compatible database engine is now available to all customers, says the Seattle-based company. More than a thousand AWS customers, including global enterprises and startups from a range of industries, participated in the preview, says Amazon.  The company claims Amazon Aurora can provide up to five times better performance than the typical MySQL database, with availability as good or better than commercial databases – at one-tenth the cost.
